Lewis and Clark Custom Stained Floor

Lewis And Clark Custom Stain Job 9 Lewis and Clark Custom Stained Floor 109 300x225Commercial Stained Concrete Project

Lewis and Clark Outfitters is opening up another store on the campus of the University of Arkansas just off Garland Avenue. It was another tight job where Harmon Concrete had to work around the clock in order to get the stained concrete done on time.

This specific concrete stain job wasn’t ordinary though. We had to draw a “river” through the entire middle section of the floor. I have to admit though, this was one of the more challenging, but rewarding parts of the whole stained concrete job!

Creating a radius in the concrete before it gets stained is not only difficult, but it’s a very slow process. It’s slow because it’s permanent. One mistake can make the whole job look bad!

As you can see from the picture on the right, the radius curves turned out perfect. Taking the time to do it right the first time is the key. When you’re using a saw to cut concrete for staining purposes, there’s only one way to do it. Perfect!

This particular custom stained concrete job specified different colors within the saw cut areas.

While different colors can be used without saw cutting, the saw cuts actually help define the area more.

As you can see from the 2nd picture on the right, once the concrete is stained with multiple colors, the saw cuts are actually helping define the different stained areas.
